Our STORY

Leather Care Clinic, affectionately known as LECA Clinic, began not as a dream but out of necessity. Pang Ching Soo, or “Pang” as his clients and peers fondly call him, didn’t start his leather care journey from a place of passion. Instead, he was searching for a way to balance the dual responsibilities of being a primary caregiver and supporting his family.
Leather care wasn’t his first venture, and it certainly wasn’t an easy path. Struggling to make ends meet, Pang took on midnight shifts as a commercial carpet cleaner to supplement his income. They journey was gruelling, marked by challenges and misinformation that left him embarrassed and frustrated. Seeing prized leather goods suffer under his care, he even restored to selling lame after-service explanations, trying to hide his lack of professional expertise.
But one incident changed everything. A client, seeing through his excuses, said, “If you explain before doing, I see you as a self-respecting professional. Now you are trying to explain with lame excuses – shame on you.” Pang was found out, and it was a wake-up call.
Determined to overcome his limitations, Pang devoted eight long years to mastering the art of leather care. This time, he vowed not to earn a single dollar from leather until he could offer a service free from speculation, backed by expertise and complete cycle advisory. The sacrifices were immense – lunch was same as last night dinner – but the commitment was unwavering.
Pang’s breakthrough came when he connected with Colourlock® International, which led to training with Japanese masters in Colourlock Japan. Armed with this new knowledge and skill, he co-founded Leather Care Clinic, Singapore’s dedicated top grain leather service centre.
